D'imigh sé ós na coiscéimí go dtí (tulcada talcada)[1] go gcaith sé gleann do thruslóig seacht míle dhéag ar fhichid do chosa(bh)acóid[2]. Do dh'imigh sé mar dh'imeodh (sí gnímh) lá gaoithe, lon dubh 'dir dhá scairt[3], nó buachaillí beaga ar Scairt Uí Chonchúir.

Translation

He went from footsteps to giant leaps (?) so that he cleared a thirty-seven mile glen with a single leap on one leg. He went like a vigorous gust (?) on a windy day, a blackbird between two briers, or little boys on Scairt Uí Chonchúir.

Commentary

This is likely to be a fragment from a larger narrative, but it appears to be too short to provide any useful folkloric information. The location of Scairt Uí Chonchúir has not been identified.
