Biographical Note
Ó Concheanainn, Peadar (1878-1957): A short biographical note in Irish on the back cover of the 1993 edition of this speaker’s own book, Inis Meáin: Seanchas agus Scéalta, edited by Pádraig Ó Siadhail, gives the following information: Peadar Ó Concheanainn was born in Baile an Leisín, Inis Meáin, in 1978. He married Bríd Ní Choncheanainn of Cabhrúch, Inis Mór, in 1913. They moved to Liverpool and then to America. They had five sons, two of whom were born in America and three in Galway. Ó Concheanainn acted in the Taibhdhearc theatre in Galway in its early years and he wrote frequently for Irish-language periodicals. He died in 1957.
