Biographical Note
Ó hAiniféin (Ó Hainifén, Hanafin, Hanifin), Seán (John) (c.1868-?): Seán Ó hAiniféin was born in Lispole, county Kerry, on April 10, 1868, to John Hanafin, farmer, and Hellena Garvey. Seán became a farmer also. He attended national school at Lispole and Minard. He was in Minard during the censuses of 1901 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000859459/] and 1911 [http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003929129/]. He lived there all his life, apart from six months he spent living west of Dingle, county Kerry. He married Eliza Hanafin (Elizabeth Hanifin) around 1898. By 1911, eight children had been born to them but only six survived. Folkloric material collected from him is housed in the National Folklore Collection, UCD.
